PYREnEEs
Val d’Aran, province of Lerida, is a small autonomous valley in the Spanish Pyrenees. The French border is very close, near Ariège and Haute-Garonne. The valley’s proximity to the Atlantic Ocean guarantees very good snow cover.
We’ll be based in Vielha, a small town on the northern slope of the Val d’Aran at an altitude of 1000 metres, surrounded by beautiful peaks almost 3000 metres high.
The vast area to explore offers more than 400 km2 of alpine terrain. The various exposures and altitudes of different valleys allow us to enjoy the best selection of slopes throughout the season.
4 clients per guide – 3 to 5 day programme
The proposed trips are between 3 and 5 days, but the structure remains the same.
Day 1:
You’ll be met at the Toulouse airport, about 100 km from Val d’Aran. A minibus will take you comfortably to your hotel. After settling in, you can explore the surrounding area before meeting your guides for the next few days.
Intermediate days :
Before boarding the helicopter and letting yourself go wild on the Catalan slopes, your guides will give a safety briefing and furnish you with safety equipment.
The week’s goal is discovering the abundance of the Val d’Aran, its diversity of slopes and generous snow cover. Your guides, together with the pilots, will make the most of the 400 km2 and different exposures, finding virgin routes to conquer.
At midday, we’ll have lunch in the mountains, while admiring the landscape.
After a day of skiing, you can make the most of the many facilities of the Baquerira Beret and Viehla resorts, for example a massage, shopping or a tapas break.
For dinners, you’ll have a wide choice of restaurants in the resort to enjoy tasty, local, authentic gastronomy.
Last day :
After a last, big half-day of heliskiing, it’ll be time to pack your bags before heading to the airport.
There’s no fixed accommodation for hotels in Val d’Aran. Numerous possibilities are available, according to what you’d like. For more than 10 years, the logistics team’s been working with the best establishments in the valley and you’ll benefit from this unparalleled knowledge of the Baqueira Beret resort.
This posh Catalan resort is often referred to as “The King’s Resort”, as it’s long been favoured by the Spanish royal family. It’s easily compared to some of the biggest resorts in Europe, such as Courchevel, Gstaad or Cortina d’Ampezzo.
The resort boasts a large number of hotels, mostly 4 and 5 stars, as well as good restaurants for gourmets.
RATE: From 2,950€ to 7,550€.
