The quiet force...
Arkhyz is a small village of 600 inhabitants located in the province of Karachay-Cherkessia, sandwiched between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea. The Mount Elbrus, the highest peak in the Caucasus (5642 meters), is only 70 kilometers far on south and Sochi, resort of Olympic Winter Games 2014 is reachable in a few hundred kilometers.
This region remains unspoiled and wild but its potential makes it a highly sought-after. The wide range of terrain is fantastic : long runs, wooded valleys, Nordmann pines forests, descents are long but you never get bored.
And after an unforgettable skiing day, Arkhyz is the ideal place to catch up with history : Byzantine temples from the tenth century, dolmens or the observatory with the largest telescope in Europe.
